If you want to learn more about the wide receiver position, there aren’t many better people to listen to than Cris Carter. The Hall of Famer has landed a deal with Blue Wire to launch a new podcast about the position.
Carter’s show will be called WR1 and will feature him sitting down with some of the biggest names at the position. It launches in July ahead of a new NFL season. After the show premiers, new episodes will come out weekly.
WynnBet will serve as the presenting sponsor of the new show. The two companies already have a relationship that includes Blue Wire studios located inside Wynn Las Vegas. That is where Carter’s show will be recorded.
“I’ve always gravitated to receivers. I have always talked receivers. And I’ve always mentored receivers,” Cris Carter told Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports. “If there’s a subject where I feel that no matter who we have on the show, looking at the history of football and looking at the future of football, to me it could only be about receivers.”
WR1 is a new venture, but will also serve as something of a compliment to another show. Blue Wire recently launched TE1 with Greg Olsen. The show follows a similar model, but obviously at a different position.
