Newsmax TV hosted a special town hall Wednesday with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. The event was hosted by Sean Spicer and Lyndsay Keith of Spicer & Co.
The event took place at The Villages which is perpetually ranked as one of the country’s fast-growing communities.
DeSantis became one of the first governors to suspend all local COVID-19 emergency orders and enacted a new law that prevents governments, schools, or private businesses from requiring vaccine passports.
“Governor DeSantis has proved his resolve and confounded his skeptics over the past year, leading his state to excellence in fostering a thriving economy, rolling out the COVID vaccine, and guarding religious liberty,” said Spicer.
DeSantis spoke out against Critical Race Theory; an increasingly popular academic movement that focuses on race and racial justice.
“Critical Race Theory is basically teaching people to hate our country, hate each other. It’s divisive and it’s basically an identity politics version of Marxism,” DeSantis said. “Schools have become “indoctrination factories.”
DeSantis also discussed cracking down on Big Tech censorship and school choice.
