There are plenty of states lifting their restrictions as the United States walks out of the coronavirus pandemic conditions.
Variety reported the comments made by “Good Morning America’s” two interim executive producers, Simone Swink and Chris Brouwer, about the morning news shows’ plans on welcoming the country back to normal.
Robin Roberts had been doing the program from home since the pandemic began last year, but she went back on the road this past Wednesday when she visited Dollywood, the Dolly Parton amusement park, in Pigeon Forge, TN.
With Roberts doing her job on the road again, the anchors and correspondents will be visiting all 50 states as the country look ahead in a post-pandemic world.
“There is this sense that America is getting its feet under it again,” Brouwer said. “We felt it was important to go out and meet our viewers where they are.”
Soon “GMA” viewers can expect to see co-anchor Michael Strahan in Chicago. Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, and Will Reeve will visit some places, including Hawaii and Mt. McKinley in Alaska.
The plan is to have the show end its travelogue in the fall at New York’s Times Square with a live production by a Broadway show.
