CNN anchor Chris Cuomo dealt with criticism for his unprofessionalism as he consulted his brother New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on how to address the sexual harassment accusations.
During a press conference with the media, the governor admitted that his brother provided advice regarding the allegations he’s facing. However, the New York Post reports that Cuomo did state that he talks to journalists about situations all the time.
“I had conversations with my brother. I always have conversations with my brother because he’s my brother, and he’s my best friend,” Cuomo said. “Obviously, he was aware of what was going on, and I talked to him about it, and he told me his thoughts.
“He always tells me his thoughts. Sometimes I follow them; sometimes, I don’t. He was not covering the story. He had recused himself from the story. But I talk to journalists about situations all the time, and they tell me their thoughts and their advice.”
Chris Cuomo would apologize on his show for providing his brother public relations advice and stated it “will not happen again.” CNN also made the decision not to discipline Cuomo.
