Phoenix radio host Mike Broomhead criticized the Biden administration’s approach to the crisis at the border during his KTAR talk show Wednesday.
Broomhead’s comments come as Vice President Kamala Harris plans to make her first-ever trip the U.S. – Mexico border Friday. Harris announced her plans to visit the border immediately after former President Donald Trump said he making a trip to the border with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
“The Achilles heel of this administration is what they are not doing at the southern border,” Broomhead said. “This is not just a partisan political issue, the one thing in Arizona is that the border has never really been a partisan issue.”
White House press secretary Jen Psaki denied that Harris’ trip Friday had to do anything with Trump’s decision to join Republicans at the border. Psaki said the trip was part of the process of finding the “root cause” of the increase in migration.
“Do I think it’s important that Harris goes to the border?” “Absolutely, I thought it was important months ago,” Broomhead said. “More importantly than just showing up there for a photo op, is getting to the border and doing something.”
The Mike Broomhead Show airs on KTAR Monday – Friday from 8am – Noon MST.
