Barstool Sports’ most infamous New York Mets fan Kevin Clancy (better known as KFC) called into Boomer and Gio on WFAN Monday morning to defend his honor as a fan after the morning duo accused KFC of continuing to complain about the Mets’ performance even after saying that someone like Steve Cohen was exactly what the Mets needed in an owner.
The conversation began with KFC saying, “I’m barely awake, I’m wiping the sleep out of my eyes and you’re having a meltdown over here. I have to call to defend my honor”.
WFAN-AM co-host Gregg Giannotti then asked, “what happened to you”, to which KFC responded with an animated “Steve Cohen happened to me, you fat idiot!”.
Gianotti responded by saying “but I think this team is not that good”.
KFC brushed off the comment saying, “yeah when we were doing our Mets ‘We Got to Believe‘ when Steve Cohen was going be the owner and then lo and behold we somehow got through a miracle. We got him. Anyway, and I said all we’ve ever complained about is getting an ownership group that cares, that counts, that spends, and that it does what it takes. We finally got that, so I am not complaining anymore”.
KFC would finish his Mets rant with, “this is all we’ve ever wanted is a marriage, brother. This is a long run, this is a marathon for me and this is the very very very beginning”
