Tom Bauerle: NY Democrats Need to call for Gov. Cuomo’s resignation

Buffalo radio host Tom Bauerle expressed hope that New York State Democrats will step up and call for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s resignation considering a report released Tuesday that accuses him of sexually harassing current and former state employees.

The WBEN NewsRadio host spoke to local attorney Steve Cohen who said that state attorney general Letitia James presented a “very thorough report” documenting the governor’s alleged actions.

“I don’t forget for one moment that Letitia James is interested in the governor’s mansion herself,” said Cohen. “I take everything with a grain of salt, but this is very, very damaging to the governor.”

Cohen reminded the listening audience that Cuomo would be subject to perjury charges if it was proven that he lied to the investigators during the investigation.

“Anytime that you give testimony under oath, you are subject to the penalty of perjury which can be a class D felony.”

Late Tuesday, President Joe Biden called on Cuomo to resign amid allegations that he harassed 11 women.

“I think we are somewhat far away from the notion of criminal charges right now,” Cohen said. “Let’s just look at the civil ramifications of the conduct that is alleged to have been committed.”

Tom Bauerle can be heard on WBEN NewsRadio weekdays from 3 – 6 p.m. You can learn more about his show by clicking this link.
