South Carolina news/talk station WRHI received a whopping 16 awards from the South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association during the annual STAR Award ceremony on Saturday night in Columbia.
The station’s very popular morning show called Palmetto Mornings was awarded “Radio Show of The Year” “News Talk Show of The Year” and “Radio Show of The Year.”
The show is hosted by former Mrs. South Carolina Patti Mercer and former cable news anchor Lucas McFadden.
The station also won “Radio Station of The Year” for the 9th time since 2000. The station has won at least 162 awards in the past two decades making it the most honored station in South Carolina history.
Straight Talk was named the Top Public Affairs Program for a 2nd consecutive year.
In 2019, WRHI celebrated its 75th of broadcasting by being named South Carolina’s Radio Station of the Year for a record-tying 8th time (tied with WTCB in Columbia).
