College GameDay, SEC Nation To Travel Together To Athens

Saturday is the very last time we will see two undefeated SEC teams face off in the 2021 season. That kind of event is usually a landmark of any college football season, so it makes sense that both of ESPN’s pregame shows are traveling to the site of Kentucky vs. Georgia.

Both College GameDay and SEC Nation will originate from Athens, GA on Saturday. It will be the second time this year that GameDay has been on the University of Georgia campus.

This is just the third time the two shows have originated from the same place. The first time was in 2018 when both were in Jacksonville for the annual meeting between Florida and Georgia. The second was when #2 LSU visited #3 Alabama in 2019.

College GameDay will originate from the campus’s Meyers Quad. SEC Nation will be at the Special Collections Library. That location will also serve as host of The Paul Finebaum Show on Friday afternoon.

Georgia ascended to #1 after a 24-point win over rival Auburn last week and Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M. Kentucky is #11 and sitting at 6-0 for the first time in more than 70 years. While ESPN’s networks will be home to the pregame festivities, the game itself will be part of an SEC on CBS doubleheader.
