Sports television can’t get enough of the Mannings right now. Peyton and Eli have delivered a hit for ESPN2 with their Manningcast of select Monday Night Football games. Their older brother Cooper is still a part of FOX’s NFL coverage. Now Cooper’s son Arch is stepping into the TV spotlight.
Arch is one of the most sought-after high school football players in America. He, like his uncles, is a prized quarterback recruit. NBCSN is hoping enough college football fans are intrigued and want to see what the hype is all about. The network will put Arch and his teammates at Isidore Newman High School on national TV on Thursday night.
Isidore Newman will take on St. Charles Catholic. While both teams are undefeated, the real draw is almost certainly Arch Manning, who is still just a high school junior, by the way.
This isn’t the first time Arch and Isidore Newman have been on national television. Last season, ESPN televised the team’s season opener.
This also isn’t the first time NBCSN is televising a highly touted recruit with a famous last name. Over the weekend, the network showcased the California Basketball Club, an AAU team featuring LeBron James’s son Bronny.
Both Peyton and Eli have commented in the past that recruiting now is much more heavily scrutinized than it was when they were making their college decisions and they hope Arch is able to enjoy playing football. For that reason, it seems unlikely the newest star in the Manning family would ever end up on the Manningcast.
