iHeartMedia released the nominees for its 2022 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. The five nominees in the Best Sports Podcast category include some very big names.
Amongst the nominees are All the Smoke, which took home the award last year, Barstool’s Pardon My Take and The Ringer’s The Bill Simmons Podcast. Those are some of the most popular sports podcasts on the internet.
Two surprise nominees are worth highlighting. The podcast replay of FOX Sports Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd earned a nomination. So did Dear Media’s Summer of Gold, a limited audio series about the performance of women at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Podcast fans get to choose the winners. Voting begins via Twitter on December 13.
The iHeartRadio Podcast Awards will be a live event in 2022 after going virtual this year. The show will take place in January 13 at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles.
