The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has postponed and rescheduled this year’s Marconi Awards. In a release Thursday, the organization announced that the event will now be held virtually on Nov 10.
Thursday’s announcement also revealed that the NAB plans to integrate the Radio Show into NAB Show on an ongoing basis beginning April 2022 in Las Vegas.
The NAB Marconi Radio Awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. During the November ceremonies, the organization winner from 23 categories will be selected. The event will be hosted by the nationally syndicated co-host of The Breakfast Club.
Among the notable big market properties featured in the nominations are Atlanta’s 95.5 WSB, which is in contention for “Legendary Station of The Year.” Philadelphia’s iconic KYW Newsradio and New York’s 1010 WINS are both nominated for “Major Market Station of The Year.”
The award show will also highlight the “Legendary Manager of The Year.” Joel Oxley, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WTOP in Washington D.C. is nominated in the category along with 1010 WINS Director of News & Programming, Ben Mevorach.
