According to Talkers, award-winning reporter/producer Bob Kessler will anchor midday news on WGN Radio 720.
Kessler’s role has grown considerably from the time he started his career at WGN nearly 30 years ago.
Kessler began his tenure in 1994 as a producer, he became a weekend news anchor in 1997. Around the same time, he became the Executive Producer of the Ramsey Lewis Morning Show at WNUA-FM.
He remained part of the WGN news staff as a fill-in anchor and reporter until the Ramsey Lewis Morning Show went into syndication in over 20 markets nationwide in 2006.
“Bob’s been an integral part of the WGN family for decades,” said WGN news director Ryan Burrow “He’s a great newsman and capably leads the anchor desk.”
Kessler grew up in Crystal Lake and graduated from Marquette University.
“A true teammate, he brings a positive energy and personality to the newsroom,” Burrow said. “I’m glad we’re able to expand his role on the news team.”
