Gerry Sandusky and Femi Ayanbadejo certainly had a strange experience on Sunday. A woman tried to climb into their broadcast booth during the Ravens’ loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The whole thing was captured on the air by the Ravens’ flagship station, WBAL.
“What are you doing? What are you doing?” Ravens fans heard Ayanbadejo exclaim during the second quarter. After that, listeners heard seventeen seconds of nothing but ambient noise while the intruder explained that she wanted a drink.
After an incomplete third down pass from Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow, Sandusky explained the scene to listeners.
“If you were listening, you heard Femi say ‘What are you doing? What are you doing?’. He was not talking to the players or the coaches. We actually had a fan that was trying to climb into the broadcast booth. She said ‘I’m a veteran and I’m looking for a drink.'”
Fortunately, no one was hurt and the issue was resolved quickly. There was no word at the time of this article’s publishing on what happened to the fan.
“You just never know what’s going to pop up or who’s going to show up on game day,” Sandusky concluded.
