The Match has become a November tradition for Turner Sports. Going back to the very first event, Phil Mickelson has always been involved. The upcoming showdown will be no different.
It will still be Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau going head to head, but Mickelson will be at the event. He and Charles Barkley will serve as analysts, joining play-by-play man Brian Anderson and reporter Amanda Balionis on the broadcast.
Phil Mickelson played Tiger Woods head-to-head for the first edition of The Match. Since then, the competitions have included NBA and NFL players. This will be just the second time it is a one-on-one competition.
Golf fans have seemingly enjoyed the sometimes not-so-friendly rivalry between Koepka and DeChambeau. While that is likely enough of a draw, it will also help to have someone as unencumbered as Barkley needling the two and stoking the fires of their dislike for one another.
The Match returns to TV on Black Friday. The event will be played at the Wynn Golf Course in Las Vegas and simulcast across TNT, TBS, and HLN.
