David Letterman and the Manning brothers have plenty of experience together. Both Peyton and Eli made multiple appearances on Late Night. With all of the experience going to Dave’s turf, it makes sense the Mannings would want to welcome him to theirs.
On Friday, the Omaha Productions Twitter account announced that Letterman would be a guest on this week’s edition of the Manningcast to watch the Patriots and the Bills.
Awful Announcing did an excellent job of cataloging just how often David Letterman hosted the Manning brothers. It makes sense too. Dave is from Indiana and is a Colts fan. Plus, his show originated from New York. It makes sense that he would want to utilize the naturally funny family.
David Letterman made headlines with another prominant athlete earlier this year. He showed up to the Brooklyn Nets’ media day event with a series of absurd questions for Kevin Durant. The bit was reportedly viral marketing for Durant’s appearance on Letterman’s Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Perhaps his appearance on the Week 13 Manningcast is meant to serve a similar purpose.
