WFAN morning producer Al Dukes is proud of Bradley Beach and often tells stories about the place he lives on air. Friday morning, while broadcasting live from radio row ahead of the annual Army/Navy Game, Dukes told Boomer and Gio that he has now become a target in the town.
Dukes is the subject of vandalism. He brought along photo evidence to prove it.
“A neighbor of mine sent me a text message yesterday and it included two photos,” Dukes said. “It said ‘Al, I thought you should know this is on the new gazebos now.’ And it is a bumper sticker that says ‘Al Dukes poops naked.’”
Gregg Giannotti quickly corrected him to say that the sticker actually says “Al Dukes takes naked poops.”
Update anchor Jerry Recco noted that the assertion is not true. Dukes corrected him to say it was true, but “I’ve changed my ways.”
Taking off his clothes while using the bathroom is an admission Dukes made on air a long time ago. He and Gio agreed that it is bizarre that in 2021 it has become the subject of a vandal’s actions.
Boomer Esiason and the rest of the crew could not stop laughing at the pictures. He asked Al Dukes why he would be embarrassed by it.
“You know, older ladies, older gentlemen sit up there and look at the ocean. They don’t want to see that,” Dukes said.
As for a plan to make things right, Dukes says he should make stickers of his own that say “I don’t do this anymore”. Giannotti said that Dukes has to make sure his stickers are right next to the ones put up by the unknown vandal.
