Sports radio listeners in Sacramento will hear some familiar voices in a new way when 2022 begins. Program Director Nick Cattles tells Barrett Sports Media that he will make his debut on the California airwaves in January and that means other changes are coming.
Jason Ross is leaving the station’s afternoon drive slot. He will go to morning drive and join Carmichael Dave.
“Jason has been a valued member of the KHTK family for well over two decades and we couldn’t be any happier to have him add to what Dave has already built in morning drive,” Cattles told BSM. “Dave and Jason have known each other for years and are both all-in on producing great content for our listeners.”
Cattles will be the new afternoon drive time host. His show will run from 3 until 6 pm each weekday, with a guest host joining him in the 4:00 hour.
“I couldn’t be more excited to finally pop on that microphone and get going in the afternoons,” Cattles said. “I look forward to embracing my new home and establishing a relationship with listeners from the past, present and future. It’s a new day in afternoon sports talk in Sacramento and it’s going to be one heck of a ride.”
KHTK began looking for a new member of the team five months ago when Doug Christie announced that he was leaving the station to join the Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach.
