Joe Rogan Joins GETTR, Cites Twitter Censorship as Reason

Twitter has suspended some news media outlets, and the platform recently banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from their platform, citing numerous violations of the platform’s COVID-19 policies.

As a result, some are heading to join GETTR, which launched earlier this year to rival Twitter, and now has another prominent user in podcaster Joe Rogan. Rogan announced that he has set up an account following several bans and suspensions on Twitter.

“Just in case shit over at Twitter gets even dumber, I’m here now as well. Rejoice!” Rogan tweeted. The podcaster recently had a guest on his podcast, who is also suspended on Twitter, Dr. Robert Malone, due to his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I try really hard to give people the information and help them to think, not to tell them what to think. Okay? But the point is if I’m not — if it’s not okay for me to be part of the conversation, even though I’m pointing out scientific facts that may be inconvenient, then who is who can be allowed?” Malone said in the interview with Rogan

GETTR CEO Jason Miller, a former senior adviser to the Trump administration, has stated that the social media platform is open to all opinions from any end of the political scope.

“GETTR is the marketplace of ideas. We will not cancel people for their political opinions, and GETTR offers far more features and better technology than anything else out there,” Miller said in the statement.
