DirecTV recently announced that it is dropping One America News (OAN) from its listings. As a result, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he is canceling his subscription to the satellite television company.
“DirecTV is canceling OAN, so I just canceled my home DirecTV. Why give money to people who hate us?” Paul said on Twitter.
Paul wasn’t alone in his stance deciding to cut ties with the company as Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) commented on the matter on Twitter.
“The Left’s purge continues: YouTube demonetizes Dan Bongino. DirectTV drops One America News. Twitter suspends Dr. Malone. Who’s next?” Jordan tweeted.
DirecTV stated the decision to drop the network was made “following a routine internal review,” adding that keeping OAN in their lineup wasn’t a good business decision.
“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” a DirecTV spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Reuters.
