Chad Finn: ‘Kevin Youkilis Could Be Part Of NESN Red Sox Plans’

We are still waiting to hear if and when the 2022 Major League Baseball season will start. When it does, NESN will be without Jerry Remy in the booth for Red Sox games for the first time since 1987.

NESN has not announced any formal plans to replace the late Remy. Most expect that Dennis Eckersly will fill the opening.

Chad Finn of The Boston Globe threw out another possibility over the weekend. He says Red Sox Hall of Famer Kevin Youkilis could be a part of the network’s plans.

Kevin Youkilis is already on the NESN payroll. He was part of the Red Sox studio team last season. He is also beloved by the team’s fans.

Youkilis played nine of his ten Major League seasons in Boston. He made three All-Star teams and was a member of the 2004 and 2007 World Series teams.

Finn says Kevin Youkilis could end up the analyst for as many as 50 games in 2022. He did not cite any sources in the report.
