Online video platform Rumble offered Spotfiy’s Joe Rogan $100 million to join its company Monday.
In a letter tweeted out and signed by the company’s CEO, Rumble promises to stand by Rogan and his “legions of fans.”
“We stand with you, your guests, and your legions of fans in desire for real conversation,” said CEO Chris Pavlovski.
Currently, Rogan is in the crosshairs of multiple controversies involving alleged COVID misinformation and his use of the n-word in podcasts unearthed by Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter India Arie.
“It looks f***ing horrible. Even to me,” Rogan said on Instagram Saturday. “I know that to most people; there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, never mind publicly on a podcast. And I agree with that now; I haven’t said it in years.”
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek condemned Rogan’s use of the n-word but claimed the company wouldn’t silence him. Rogan signed an exclusive $100 million content deal with the company in September 2020.
“So, we’d like to offer you 100 million reasons to make the world a better place. How about you bring all your shows to Rumble, both old and new, with no censorship, for 100 million bucks over four years?” Pavlovski added.
