Allison Gollust Resigns From Chief Marketing Officer Role

A couple of weeks ago, former CNN President Jeff Zucker resigned from his position with the network after revealing a consensual relationship with fellow executive Allison Gollust.

There were some questions about why only Zucker was resigning and why Gollust didn’t join him. However, two weeks since the news broke, Gollust has resigned from her chief marketing officer position.

WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar released a memo in which “the investigation found violations of Company policies, including CNN’s News Standards and Practices, by Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo.”

“Based on interviews of more than 40 individuals and a review of over 100,000 texts and emails, the investigation found violations of company policies, including CNN’s news standards and practices,” the memo stated.

“I realize this news is troubling, disappointing, and frankly painful to read. These are valid feelings that many of you have. We have the highest standards of journalistic integrity, and those rules must apply to everyone equally.”

Gollust didn’t remain quiet as she released her statement accusing the network of trying to change the narrative of the situation. Furthermore, she states that executives at WarnerMedia had “assured” her she could notify staffers of her leaving on Tuesday night.

“Unfortunately, they jumped the gun, breaking their promise,” she wrote. “I am sorry you had to learn this from someone other than me.”

“WarnerMedia’s statement tonight is an attempt to retaliate against me and change the media narrative in the wake of their disastrous handling of the last two weeks.”
