Former NBC Sports reporter Michele Tafoya appeared on the nationally syndicated “Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” Tuesday and sounded off about several hot button political issues including school mask mandates and social media censorship.
After more than a decade with NBC, Tafoya worked her final game as a sideline reporter during Super Bowl LVI Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
Tafoya will begin her new journey in the world of politics by addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) next week in Orlando, Florida.
“Something’s been tugging at, like, my soul and my gut for several years now that it’s time to give back,” said Tafoya. “Life has given me a lot, and I’ve earned a lot of it, but life has given me great opportunities.”
Tafoya weighed in on the NFL making political decisions for its players, especially relating to the National Anthem controversy.
“I think one of the mistakes that the NFL made was that when they first started kneeling, they told ’em to stop,” she said. “Let them do what they want to do and express themselves.”
Tafoya said she can’t understand why schools are still mandating that children wear masks.
“I understand it’s a pandemic. But we’ve got the data now — we have the science that everyone’s claims should be directing our decisions — and yet they just won’t let this go with the kids in school. I’m baffled and I’m angry,” said Tafoya.
Tafoya is joining Kendall Qualls‘ gubernatorial campaign in Minnesota.
