Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is facing new allegations of assault levied by a former associate at ABC News.
According to The New York Times, Cuomo asked the unidentified woman to lunch and, when she arrived, made sexual advances towards her; when she refused, he allegedly assaulted her.
Cuomo denies the allegations through a spokesperson. He is also “doubling down on his claims that he was improperly fired by CNN.”
Instead, telling people that when the dust settles, he will be demanding an apology from his old network and his former boss Jeff Zucker.
The Times said Cuomo received a letter from the woman’s lawyer, Debra Katz, who reportedly calls his action an “abuse of power at CNN to attempt to silence my client.”
The report is the latest in a series of allegations against Cuomo, whose firing started a series of moves that culminated in the resignation of former CNN President Jeff Zucker and the network’s chief market officer, Allison Gollust.
