Blue Wire is making more of a shift from audio podcast to video content. A big part of that will be the upcoming show featuring Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby that will be produced from the Wynn Las Vegas Studio.
According to Blue Wire, Crosby’s as-yet-untitled show could be described as an internet clip show featuring viral videos and stunt attempts that go wrong. Crosby and co-host Roqui Theus will react to those videos on each podcast along with a lineup of special guests.
To make sure Crosby’s show is a top-notch video product, Blue Wire has brought in Hollywood producer Rob Fee to lead development and production. Fee’s impressive résumé includes writing horror comic books for Marvel and working as a head writer for Disney XD’s Player Select, which sounds a bit similar in concept to Crosby’s podcast.
Most recently, Fee worked with Will Smith and his company Westbrook Media on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion special for HBO Max and the WFH: Will From Home short video series.
Fee will work with the Blue Wire team in all aspects of production including researching and writing, while utilizing his experience in the post-production process.
“We are incredibly excited to work with Maxx on almost a weekly basis from our studio in Las Vegas,” said Blue Wire executive producer Coale Henderson Blue. “The energy has been great so far. We can’t wait for people to see what we’re up to.”
Announced last November, Crosby signed for 45 episodes with Blue Wire, according to CEO Kevin Jones. The Raiders star’s presence on social media was appealing to Jones, who viewed Crosby as an ideal fit for Blue Wire.
“Maxx has quickly become an electric personality and player in the NFL,” said Jones when the project was announced. “His appetite to create content is exactly what we look for in a partnership. His presence will bring an energy we want from our Wynn Las Vegas studio.
Jones will be part of the “Planting Your Flag in a Digital World” panel conversation at Wednesday’s session of the BSM Summit. with Hubbard Radio’s Phil Mackey, Meadowlark Media’s Carl Scott, and The Volume’s Logan Swaim.
