CNN+ is nearing its debut, and the network continues to make moves behind the scenes this time, they announced, per Adweek, several new executive producers and content leaders are joining the CNN+ team.
Javier de Diego joins the streaming platform as he’s now the executive producer to Chris Wallace’s show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?”
De Diego has been with CNN for 14 years, serving as a senior broadcast producer for The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and supervising producer for The Lead with Jake Tapper.
After her ten-year stint as a CBS News executive, Eva Nordstrom is returning to CNN. She’s now the new director of features and planning for CNN+, where Nordstrom will be the CNN+ ambassador to Domestic and International Newsgathering.
In her prior stint with the three-letter network, Nordstrom spent 15 years in different positions, including as a senior producer at American Morning and later as a senior producer for Anderson Cooper 360.
Vaughn Sterling is also taking over an executive producer role at CNN+, where he’ll oversee breaking news coverage on the streaming platform and Reliable Sources Daily, hosted by Brian Stelter.
Sterling joined CNN over 20 years ago as a video journalist. Since then, he’s held about every position at the company, from running prompter to working with the International Desk during the Iraq War and assisting in launching “The Situation Room.”
Finally, Ilyas Kirmani joins CNN+ following a 16-year stint at NBC News, serving as a managing editor, executive producer, and executive editor for NBC News in London. Kirmani will be the executive producer for “Cari & Jemele: Speak.Easy” and “The Don Lemon Show.”
