The “Great Texas Barbeque, Beer & Bourbon Blowout” hosted by iHeartMedia Houston radio star Michael Berry drew thousands of loyal fans to the Roadhouse Restaurant last week.
According to All Access, 1,200 listeners packed the venue. Premiere Networks’ hosts Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Jesse Kelly headlined the event.
“I just want to say a big thanks, to take a moment,” Sexton said on Monday’s show. “We were down in Houston. First of all, as a New Yorker, I love Houston. It’s a real city-city but with Texans, which is fantastic.”
Jesse Kelly, host of the “Jesse Kelly Show,” tweeted that he wasn’t necessarily comfortable attending large-scale events but that he’s glad that he did.
“I woke up today more energized and ready than I have been in a while,” he posted. “Why? The people. The people coming together have real value.”
Travis said that it was “phenomenal” to meet so many listeners. “I thought the most entertaining part — and there were a lot of entertaining parts — was when Buck said he was from New York City, and everybody booed. That was amazing.”
The evening discussion centered on current events, and country music artist Tracy Byrd treated the crowd to a live performance.
