‘The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz’ Will Appear at SXSW, Recording Two Shows

The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz is taking the pirate ship on the road! Meadowlark Media announced on Thursday that the show is taking its operation to Austin for the South by Southwest festival (SXSW) on March 13 and 14.

Both shows on Sunday and Monday will record in front of a live studio audience with special guests and surprise elements from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin. Highlights from each program will then be made available on podcast, YouTube, and The Le Batard Show‘s social media channels.

Le Batard will also host a conversation on SXSW’s Podcast Stage with former Texas Longhorns star and Heisman Trophy Ricky Williams. Their relationship goes back to Le Batard’s days writing for the Miami Herald, when he made efforts to provide insight into the often misunderstood Williams while he played for the Miami Dolphins. Williams is now a regular on The Le Batard Show. The two will be on stage Sunday, March 13 at 10 a.m. CT.

Coming off the online presentation of the show’s musical about the NFL, The Big Game, which was also just released as an album, The Le Batard Show crew will perform the production written by executive producer Mike Ryan and singer-songwriter JT Daly live during their SXSW shows.

“We are attracted symbolically to Austin’s counterculture spirit and South by Southwest’s support of the arts, music and creative energy,” said Le Batard in Meadowlark’s announcement. “Our intimate, weird spaceship is hard to move, but we’re doing it purposefully because of what this city and event represent… and what Meadowlark aspires to
be, a company with a soul.

“We will try our hardest to keep Stugotz from graffiti-ing the work of other artists, but we will fail, and we apologize in advance if he urinates in one of the city’s fountains.”
