WABC’s Sid Rosenberg, who co-hosts “Bernie and Sid in the Morning,” is taking next week off from his New York radio show to pursue a new and possibly a promising side hustle of his, acting.
Rosenberg is in the cast for the upcoming mob movie “Gemini Lounge,” about a bar in an area he knows well, his native Brooklyn. This isn’t the radio host’s first dip into acting as he was in the Amazon Prime series “Gravesend,” where he played Dave Busco, a soldier in the Colezzo crime family.
“It started with the one role in the Amazon Prime series ‘Gravesend,’ which I’m still shooting and that led to ‘Gemini Lounge,’ which should be a pretty big hit coming out next year,” Rosenberg said, per Inside Radio.
Much of “Gravesend” was filmed in Brooklyn, so Rosenberg continued to co-host his morning show on WABC while the crew was shooting for the series. However, for “Gemini Lounge,” he’s taking the week of March 21 off as he heads to Los Angeles, where he’ll shoot his scenes.
“They were more than happy to give me the time off. The show is doing great – No. 1 in news/talk in New York, so they’re happy. I do other things to bring more exposure, which ends up bringing more revenue into the station,” Rosenberg added.
