Fox News reporter Steve Harrigan spent weeks covering the war on the ground in Ukraine. On Monday, he returned home to discuss what he witnessed and offered some bold predictions for the future of the conflict.

Appearing on “America’s Newsroom” Monday, Harrigan said the Russian people will eventually rise and overthrow President Vladimir Putin.

“One mistake that people make about Vladimir Putin is that they think he’s like us,” said Harrigan. “Fascist dictators aren’t like us; he’s going to keep going, it’s a different mindset.”

Harrigan also discussed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s handling of the war thus far.

“I think he hoped for better relations with Russia at the start,” said Harrigan. “He (Zelenskyy) has been pure heroic since then [the start of the war].”

Harrigan warned that the bigger story on the horizon is the way Russian people will feel about Putin as the war carries on.

“I think Putin is being bled. And he will be bled for years, and it will take years. Maybe the oligarchs who are making as much money will hurt. Maybe the Russian people will rise up.”

“You know what, I think this is a long-term tragedy. “We’re watching people get slaughtered. And we’re going to watch it for years to come,” added Harrigan.
