“Meet the Press” Announces Several Hires and Promotions

NBC News made many significant hires and promotions to its “Meet The Press” franchise as it eyes to grow its operations beyond television. The network appointed Matt Rivera as MTP’s first-ever editorial director of content strategy, heading up a new MTP team.

Rivera has spent more than a decade with NBC News; he has served as a senior digital producer at Meet the Press. Furthermore, Rivera and his producers assisted in making MTP the top Sunday show brand on all digital outlets, including social reach, video views, and audio/podcast audience.

He’s also been vital in evolving the Meet the Press Film Festival, The Chuck ToddCast, and Meet the Press Reports.

“In this role, Matt’s mandate is to grow MTP’s non-broadcast portfolio, including digital, newsletters, audio, engagement, streaming, live events and more,” Meet the Press SVP Carrie Budoff Brown said in a staff memo, per Adweek

“He will help drive strategy around our existing product suite and identify new opportunities to reach more of our audience where it wants to consume us.”

Tanya Davis comes over to Meet the Press as a producer after operating as a segment producer with “Morning Joe.” NBC News also gave Sarah Dean a promotion to a producer role. Dean has been with the network since 2017 when she began as a desk assistant at the Washington D.C. bureau.

Joining Davis and Dean is Caitlin Hartman, who also received a promotion to associate producer at “Meet the Press.” Hartman has been with Meet the Press for the last two years, beginning as an intern and transitioning to a researcher role. 

After serving as an NBC News associate, Elias Miller joins the “Meet the Press” team as a researcher/production associate. Finally, Katie Harada joins “Meet the Press Daily” coming over from Nippon TV, spending time covering many Washington, D.C. beats, with a primary focus on the Department of Defense.
