Do you know who Dr. Doofenshmirtz is? Neither did Kentucky Sports Radio host Matt Jones until Saturday when a caller to his weekend show on ESPN Radio said that is who Jones sounds like.
Andy, a caller from Mississippi told Jones that when he gets worked up, he sounds like the villain from the Disney Channel cartoon Phineas and Ferb. The reference was lost on both Matt Jones and his ESPN Radio co-host Myron Medcalf. Andy asked Jones to say the name of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s archnemesis, Perry the Platypus.
Jones obliged, but objected to the comparison. That was until the show came back from the break with audio of Dr. Doofenshmirtz talking.
“You know what? Let me just be honest with you,” Jones said. “I can hear it.”
Myron Medcalf was laughing so hard that he could not respond at first. He asked the producer to play the clip one more time.
“So Myron, do you think that sounds like me when I get a little worked up?” Matt Jones asked.
“I think it is you,” Medcalf responded laughing.
