Despite having a lucrative exclusive deal with Spotify, Joe Rogan is willing to walk away from that money on the table if the streaming giant forces him to walk on eggshells during a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“I will quit. If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, f–k that!” Rogan said.
Rogan has been in the headlines over the past few months, whether due to Covid-19 misinformation or his use of the N-word. Despite this, Spotify has stood by Rogan even as other artist left their streaming platform in protest.
Nonetheless, the podcaster is making it clear that if he’s asked to change, he plans to walk away.
“There’s more people poring over it but it’s the same thing. I do it the same way,” Rogan said. “If I become something different because it grew bigger, I will quit.”
In 2020, Rogan signed a deal with Spotify for $100 million. With about a year left to complete the contract, the agreement has already doubled in valuation.
