With all of the talk about the NFL broadcasting carousel, it was easy to forget that Joe Buck’s exit from FOX meant that Major League Baseball was going to need to find a new play-by-play man for its biggest events. FOX has found its man in Joe Davis. The TV voice of the Dodgers will now call FOX’s biggest games, including the World Series and the All-Star Game.
Davis has worked with John Smoltz, FOX’s top baseball analyst several times. Andrew Marchand of The New York Post reports that network brass likes the team enough to slide Joe Davis right into Buck’s old seat.
FOX Sports declined to comment for the story, but this is a move that Buck said previously fans would have seen happen even if he hadn’t left the network.
Marchand speculates that the games that used to be called by Davis will now likely go to Adam Amin.
