Baseball fans that don’t like MLB’s streaming deals with Peacock and Apple TV+ are about to have even more to complain about. The league announced today that it has renewed its partnership with YouTube and will put 15 games on the platform in the 2022 season.
This season will be the fourth that YouTube and Major League Baseball have worked together. The first game on the social video giant will feature the Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies on May 5.
Scott Braun and Yonder Alonso will call the game. MLB Network’s Siera Santos will host the pregame show. Every broadcast will also feature a live chat feature.
“We value our continued partnership with YouTube and the opportunity to build on the experience the MLB Game of the Week on YouTube brings to fans,” Dominick Balsamo, Major League Baseball’s senior VP of global media and business development, said. “YouTube’s creative approach to fan engagement lets viewers feel like they are a part of the broadcast, and we look forward to another season of bringing fans closer to the game through their unique presentation.”
