Gus Johnson gets his steady paycheck from FOX, but he is being allowed to do a little freelancing during the NBA Playoffs. Starting Monday night, he will be a part of the TNT crew, calling games alongside Greg Anthony.
Right now, Johnson is only assigned to two games. He will call Monday’s game two in Philadelphia between the Toronto Raptors and 76ers. He is also on the schedule for Wednesday night. He will be in Milwaukee to see the defending champion Bucks host the Chicago Bulls.
Most people associate Gus Johnson with college basketball, but he is no stranger to the NBA. He served as the radio voice of the New York Knicks from 1994 until 2010. He has also called games for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks.
The rest of the TNT playoff schedule is populated by familiar voices. Brian Anderson, Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle and Spero Dedes fill out the rest of the assignments.
