Podcaster Joe Rogan and British author Douglas Murray had a few laughs at CNN’s expense recently. During “The Joe Rogan Experience” Friday the pair discussed Brian Stelter’s appearance and the very rapid demise of the streaming service CNN+.
“Imagine the hubris of charging someone something that they don’t even want for free,” said Rogan. “I like Jake Tapper, but I couldn’t imagine paying for his book club. I feel like that is something you could put on Twitter.”
Murray said he was shocked to learn that Brian Stelter is only 34 years old.
“His pattern of communication is so strange,” Rogan said. “It’s like, do you listen to other people? They talk very differently from you.”
Rogan has taken several swipes at the “Reliable Sources” host in the past criticizing a perceived softball interview with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and the low ratings that his cable news program continues to produce.
Rogan reiterated that CNN blew hundreds of millions of dollars on CNN+ before announcing that it was canceling the project.
“They spent $300 million dollars and got 10,000 subscribers,” Rogan added.
