Martha MacCallum: Donald Trump’s Conduct on Jan. 6th Not Surprising

Political pundits weighed in Tuesday following explosive testimony in front of the Jan. 6 Committee. The star witness, former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, shared new details about the events that reportedly occurred after former President Donald Trump gave his now infamous speech.

According to The Wrap, Fox News host Martha MacCallum wasn’t necessarily shocked listening to Hutchinson’s testimony. Hutchinson detailed to the committee how Trump threw his lunch after former Attorney General Bill Barr advised him there was tangible evidence of voter fraud.

“I’m not sure that it really shocks anybody that the president — knowing what we’ve seen observing him over the years — if he got angry, that he might throw his lunch,” MacCallum said on Fox News.

In what may have been some of the most shocking testimony we’ve seen so far in the six public meetings the Jan 6 Committee has held, Hutchinson said Trump attempted to physically force the Secret Service to re-route the presidential vehicle to the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“I’m not sure that any of this is wholly out of character with the Donald Trump and the President Trump that people came to know over the years,” MacCallum said.

“And there’s a lot of people out there who obviously shared his feelings of frustration over the course of those days. The problem was that they couldn’t back it up with anything in the courts and they couldn’t back it up with the evidence they produced.”
