Former WBAL Host Discusses Decision for Latest Run in Politics

Former WBAL radio host Yuripzy Morgan is speaking out about her decision to run for United States House of Representatives in Maryland’s newly redrawn 3rd Congressional District.

In a release obtained by Barrett News Media, Morgan said she gave up her daily radio show because she, “couldn’t talk about the issues anymore, she needed to do something.”

On Monday, Morgan received an endorsement from Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan who called her, “exactly the kind of candidate we need for Republicans to win in November.”

“A constitutional lawyer and host of one of the Baltimore area’s highest-rated political talk shows, Yuripzy not only understands how our government is supposed to work, she’s never been afraid to hold politicians in Washington accountable for their actions.”

Morgan criticized incumbent Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD) for not doing enough for his constituents. “Unlike Congressman Sarbanes, I’ll be an independent voice in D.C. who actually puts in the work for my constituents.”

Morgan entered the Congressional race in February of this year. This is her second attempt after she ran unsuccessfully in 2016.
