The entire TVG family is reportedly set to get a rebrand. Parent company FanDuel is planning to change the formats of the horse racing networks to make them more appealing to a broader audience. According to Legal Sports Report, there will be some serious star power involved too.
While the two sides have not announced a deal, Legal Sports Report says that FanDuel is planning to have former NFL Network host Kay Adams anchor a morning show. It would certainly explain why after months of rumors linking Adams to Amazon, the streamer went with Charissa Thompson to anchor studio coverage of Thursday Night Football.
Adams is just the start of FanDuel’s plans too. LSR says the company is planning to have Bill Simmons and Pat McAfee involved in the TVG overhaul as well.
FanDuel would get access to more than 60 million homes in the US with TVG and TVG2. The channels are set to be rebranded FanDuel TV and FanDuel Racing respectively.
Recently, the company moved Mike Raffensperger from being the CMO to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer. The new job puts him in charge of all of FanDuel’s content, including TVG.
Nothing has been made official, but the target launch date for the new channels is September. Horse racing will still play a large role in the new channels. Legal Sports Report writes that a lineup for the new FanDuel TV would likely look like this:
5 am-6 am: More Ways To Win
6 am-7 am: Bill Simmons & The Ringer
7 am-8 am: Former Good Morning Football host Kay Adams hosting a new SportsCenter-style show
8 am-9 am: Pat McAfee
9 am-9 pm: Live racing with cut-ins and sports updates from FanDuel talent
