Bill O’Reilly: The View Should Have a News Person

Author and commentator Bill O’Reilly joined 77 WABC’s “Bernie & Sid in the Morning” Thursday to discuss critical comments made on “The View” about Turning Point USA.

Sid Rosenburg called the way the ladies allegedly slandered Turning Point USA “disgusting” before adding that the apology was half-hearted.

O’Reilly said he spoke to the Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk immediately after the comments on “The View.”

“Kirk is a young guy, he’s a conservative, but he’s not a malicious guy,” said O’Reilly. “He built the agency and suddenly “The View” is accusing him of fostering Nazis.”

Kirk reportedly sent a cease-and-desist letter to the show prompting an on-air apology from co-host Sara Haines.

“My point in what I wrote on the message of the day is that this is ABC News,” O’Reilly said. “That’s who runs this program, it’s not entertainment. When you have a news show, you should have a news person on the show.”

Haines walked back the show’s comments this week. Stating that the neo-Nazi demonstrations were not tied to the organization. In addition to the cease-and-desist, Turning Point is reportedly contemplating legal action against the network.

O’Reilly said “The View” was created by news person Barbara Walters but now, “you have to hire a person to read the newspaper to them.”
