Chris Williams, the General Manager and Chief Product Officer of the iHeartRadio app, has announced his departure.

In a post on LinkedIn, Williams joked his “short attention span” plays into the decision to leave the company he’s been with for 17 years at “the onset of a recession, with historical rates of inflation and with the world seemingly on fire every day”.

Williams began his career with then-Clear Channel as the Program Director in Atlanta before ascending to the role of Program Director of Premium Choice Alternative and Active Rock formats. A short stop in Cincinnati as the cluster’s Vice President of Programming before joining the New York office as Senior Vice President of Digital Content for the company.

“I begin the journey of finding what’s next, now,” Williams said in the LinkedIn post. “The thought of that is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. Part of the process, I’m told, is giving my network a heads up about my free agent status.”

He added he informed iHeartMedia of his decision month’s ago, and will be on the job through the end of the month.
