Radio host Glenn Beck insisted that the mainstream media is covering to protect public school districts that distribute books in their libraries that promote the “genderqueer” lifestyle.
Beck railed about the subject during his national radio show Wednesday.
“Why are they (media) making it into the To Kill a Mockingbird and The Diary of Anne Frank are being taken out?”
According to the Washington Post, residents in a Western Michigan community recently voted to defund the public library after the book Gender Queer: A Memoir was discovered in its local library.
“This (news) is to distract you and distract all those who are not paying attention, which is about 90 percent of this population it seems at times!” Beck exclaimed.
Beck said the media is good at diverting eyes, so people don’t realize that public schools are becoming grounds for risqué material.
He said books that are popping up in public school libraries contain chapters documenting how “a man and a boy can pleasure each other.”
“K-12, the name of this book is Gender Queer: A Memoir. “This is why they are telling you that To Kill a Mockingbird is being banned. “This book should be banned but it should not be burned,” added Beck.
