CNN’s “Inside Politics” to Rerun in “Reliable Sources” Slot

TheWrap recently reported that CNN has no plans for a media beat show, and while the network figures out what to do with the time slot, reruns of “Inside Politics” will be airing (h/t TheWrap).

Sunday’s 8 a.m. ET “Inside Politics” will be rerun at 11 a.m., the time slot previously occupied by “Reliable Sources.” As of now, there is no current replacement in the works for the canceled news magazine time slot.

Despite the “Reliable Sources” show being canceled, the newsletter will continue with CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy taking over the duties from Brian Stelter.

The lack of a backfill plan for “Reliable Sources” after ousting Stelter tells the urgency with which CNN brass wanted to shake up the Sunday morning lineup. CNN CEO Chris Licht continues to mold the network into his vision as he moves the news channel towards the center.

“In the immediate future, this newsletter will take a brief summer hiatus,” Darcy wrote. “But in a few weeks, I will return with a reimagined product that expands our coverage and mirrors the complex media landscape our nation and world are facing today.”

A source understanding CNN’s plans told TheWrap there is no official relaunch date for the newsletter.
