Coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death continues on American news channels, with many broadcasting shows from London. However, for “The View’s” Ana Navarro-Cárdenas, it’s time for networks in the U.S. to tackle more pressing matters.
On Monday, Navarro-Cárdenas stated in two tweets that she wished the queen’s funeral would be broadcasted without commentary, highlighting the extensive coverage some networks have given her death.
“I wish I could watch the Queen’s funeral without so much commentary,” Navarro-Cárdenas tweeted. “It’s been 11 days of endless royal talk. Makes it hard to focus on the solemnity of the ceremony. Glad she’s finally going to rest in peace.”
Navarro-Cárdenas added that it’s time for American news channels to begin covering other prominent issues affecting the country, such as Puerto Rico dealing with Hurricane Fiona.
“Folks, I respect the Queen as much as the next person,” Navarro-Cárdenas continued.
“I offer my condolences to the Brits and all who loved her. But can I please get some news and footage of the effects of Fiona in Puerto Rico? For those who need reminding, they are American citizens in distress.”
