Joe Haden Says He Has Met With Networks For Potential Gig

The playing days are over for Joe Haden. He told Pat McAfee that he didn’t receive any offers to play this season that he felt justified leaving his family in California. Now, he says he is fully in dad mode with his two sons.

That doesn’t mean that he is done with the NFL. The three-time Pro Bowler says he is retired and interested in making a move into the broadcasting world.

“I’ve been meeting with CBS,” Haden said on Monday’s edition of The Pat McAfee Show

He said that at one point, he had discussions with Amazon about joining its Thursday Night Football crew.

“We were just talking, but they weren’t doing anything with active players, so they’re doing the Thursday Night Football thing. I was talking to them this offseason, but they kinda cut short because they thought I was still playing.”

So what does the perfect broadcasting role look like for Joe Haden?

“I’m really into the commentating,” he said. “I really like that.”

Haden added that he would be open to any opportunity. In addition to being a dad and working on his broadcasting skills, he is dabbling in California real estate to pass the time.
