Monday Night Football With Peyton & Eli, mostly known as the Manningcast, has proved to be a popular alternate broadcast, and WFAN morning host Gregg Giannotti pointed out how much he has enjoyed seeing Eli Manning’s personality come out more and more during the broadcast.
“Eli Manning doesn’t say a lot so when he says something mildly controversial, everyone’s gonna jump on it,” Giannotti said. “He took a shot at Russell Wilson last night. Did you hear about this? Eli Manning taking shots!”
“Welcome to the dark side, Eli. It feels good to have an opinion,” co-host Boomer Esiason said.
“Talking about the 11-10 game on Sunday night and Eli said they should probably give the punter $250 million instead of Russell Wilson,” Giannotti said.
“I mean, Eli’s had a few games like that,” Esiason countered.
“But still, I thought that was great,” Giannotti admitted. “Eli coming out firing! You don’t normally get that from him! Ever since that Chad Powers bit this guy has completely changed his entire personality.”
Giannotti then admitted he didn’t watch Monday Night Football With Peyton & Eli last night, due to it interfering with his job.
“I have not watched the Manningcast yet this year,” Giannotti said. “I think because it’s distracting for me now. I checked it out a couple of times last year later in the season and I enjoyed it. It was fine. But if I’m trying to watch a Giant game because we’re gonna talk about it the next day, I can’t have six Zoom interviews on the Manningcast. It’s impossible.”
Giannotti is on record saying the Manningcast needs to eliminate guests. He said the guests were a “big problem” adding “They put them on those Zooms and the connection is always terrible and they are talking over each other and there is a delay.”
