Todd Starnes: Media Has Ignored Killing of North Dakota Teen

Conservative radio host Todd Starnes said there’s a noticeable gap in media coverage of a story that involves the killing of a North Dakota teen.

Starnes made the comments on his “ToddCast Podcast” Monday.

According to News Channel 9, Shannon Brandt killed Cayler Ellingson in a hit-and-run after they had a political argument.

“Where has the media coverage been on this?” Starnes said. “It’s almost as if this crime never happened. We all know that the mainstream media is biased, we all know that the fix is in.”

Starnes said this story should be used as an opportunity to bring the political temperature down a few notches.

Brandt told officers he had a political argument with the 18-year-old and felt threatened because he believed the teen was calling people to come get him.

Starnes blamed President Joe Biden for inciting his base, adding that he’s been “ratcheting up the rhetoric since this kid was killed.”

“Not a single national news reporter had the courage or the moral fortitude to actually ask the Biden administration whether or not they regret or retract the language they are using.”

Starnes did credit Fox News for bringing up the subject during one of its morning news programs.
