Former White House staffer turned daytime talk show host Alyssa Farah Griffin said she couldn’t be happier with her new full-time position on “The View.”
In August, Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro were hired as co-hosts to fill a seat vacated by Meghan McCain. According to USA Today, Farah Griffin is adapting to her role on a show often criticized for its lack of political diversity.
“In my experience, whether it’s working in the Secretary of Defense’s office or briefing the president in the Oval Office, the issues that rise to that level are so complicated, they’re never going to be solved on purely partisan lines,” she said. “So, I try to have a more just open-minded approach when I meet people in public life.”
Farah Griffin told the paper there was no hesitancy on her part to fill the show’s conservative seat. She said she viewed it as a “phenomenal opportunity.”
The show is an incredibly powerful platform. We have millions of people who tune in,” said Farrah Griffin. “I’m a viewer for many years, so I was pretty clear-eyed about what I was going into, and there are definitely days where I’m like, “Oof, the news cycle is not in my favor.”
Farah Griffin’s colleague and co-host Whoopi Goldberg reminded her to “not listen to the haters” and to enjoy every moment.
“And it really meant a lot to me. I hear Whoopi in my head when I start doom scrolling and I’m like, “Why am I doing this?” I don’t need those people’s opinions,” she added.
